Falling into the hell of injustice
In the wrong place, at the wrong time ...
I was born in Egypt in 1974. In 1995 my employer in Egypt at the time (a Kuwaiti company) asked me to move to their head office in Kuwait. I worked for them there for a while then got better offers and changed jobs. In 2006 I started working at Al-Mulla Motors, part of the Al-Mulla Group of Companies.
Soon after I arrived in Kuwait, I started discovering the corruption that existed between big business and government. It is almost standard practice.
When I moved to Al-Mulla, I saw more of this corruption there. The company gives bribes to government officials, in the form of free cars or services. In return, these officials help the company and its senior people break the law and avoid consequences. The company would fund these bribes by over-charging normal customers.
BEFORE
This is me when I went to work in Kuwait.
AFTER
This is me, granted asylum in Canada after 8 years of injustice and persecution in Kuwait.
The brown patches near and below my eyes is where Kuwait police officers tortured me with electric wires.
