After years of darkness and denial, the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention (WGAD) issued a detailed 17 page report in which they articulated exactly what happened to Samih in Kuwait, and also dismantled the defence the State of Kuwait filed, showing it to be defective and untrue.

The report included a series of recommendations and demanded that the State of Kuwait compensate Samih for his suffering.
